Suncatcher Resin Workshop
June 28 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Come create your own custom resin + crushed glass suncatcher!

You’ll choose from almost 20 different designs, each cut approximately 10–11 inches and made from 1/4″ MDF. Your piece will start as raw MDF, and we’ll begin class by painting your base so it’s perfectly prepped for your design.

From there, the fun really begins.
We’ll have a variety of crushed glass colors and resin pigments/tints available for you to create your look. Please note: not every color shown in inspiration photos will be available in class.
We’ll also only have a few physical samples in the studio — this is your chance to get creative and make it uniquely yours! If you’d like inspiration beforehand, there are lots of ideas online to spark your imagination.

How It Works
- Paint your MDF base
- A backing is added to create a contained design area
- Add crushed glass or tinted resin to your piece
- If using crushed glass, a layer of clear epoxy resin is poured over the top
- Your project goes home in a box to cure
Projects will need to dry for 24 hours before removing the backing.

Display Tips
Resin can yellow over time if exposed to very bright, direct sunlight. We recommend hanging your suncatcher in:
- An overcast-facing window
- A covered patio window
- A bright space without harsh, direct sun exposure
This will help preserve the clarity and color of your piece.

What’s Included

Resin Safety
We’ll be working with epoxy resin, and safety is important:
- Gloves must be worn when handling resin
- Masks are recommended while working with resin and crushed glass
- Aprons are provided to protect clothing
- Avoid touching your face while working
- Wash hands thoroughly after class
- Resin is not food-safe in liquid form — no eating directly at your workstation
- If you have severe chemical sensitivities, this class may not be a good fit
The studio will be well-ventilated, and I’ll guide you step-by-step through the process so you feel comfortable and confident.

A Little Reminder 💛
Resin art is beautifully imperfect. No two projects will look exactly alike — and that’s part of the magic. While we’ll do our best to minimize air bubbles, small bubbles or tiny imperfections may still appear in your finished piece. That’s completely normal with resin and crushed glass projects and part of the handmade charm. Embrace the uniqueness — it means it was truly made by you!
This workshop is relaxed, creative, and a little bit magical watching everything come together. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece that catches the light beautifully 💛
You’ll be prompted to select your resin base design during checkout. Please choose the one you’d like to create from the images below.
Note: Some designs are shown in black for preview purposes, but all bases will be cut from brown MDF and can be painted any color you’d like during class.
